DHSC: Department of Health and Social Care

The Department of Health and Social Care, or the DHSC, is a ministerial department of the UK government. Its primary responsibility is to set the national healthcare plan and support the NHS.

The Department of Health and Social Care sets the health care strategy for the UK. All ministerial departments support the DHSC. As a ministerial department, the DHSC provides funding, sets policy, and regulates health and social care systems across the UK. 

 

What is the role of the Department of Health and Social Care?

 

The role of the DHSC is to devise the strategy, decide what services to fund, and provide funding for health and social care through its 28 agencies and public health bodies.
