These are typically everyday situations where the law is clear, but general awareness of these laws is still lacking. In practice, this may include:

• Interactions with police or other authorities, where you may need to understand what information you are legally required to show, what questions you may be legally required to answer, what your rights are as a legally prescribed Releaf patient, particularly as police understanding of medical cannabis law has not always kept pace with the legislation itself. 
• Situations where you feel that you are being treated unfairly or discriminated against in a workplace or public setting because of your lawful medical cannabis prescription, and want clarity around your rights.  
• Questions around disclosure, workplace policies, or requests made of you that relate directly to your prescription and personal circumstances.
• More general questions about your rights and responsibilities as a prescribed medical cannabis patient in the UK.

Accessing Releaf Protect is easy. You call the dedicated hotline, confirm your eligibilty for the service by providing your name, patient I.D number, and monthly access code. You will then be connected with a trained legal proffesional who will listen carefully to your particular situation before offering any advice

Your advisor can help how the law applies to to you, what information is sensible to share, and what reasonable next steps may look like for both yourself, and the person questioning your prescription. This could include discussion of materials you already have on hand, such as your prescription details or your Releaf medical cannabis card, where appropriate.

All advice is given on the basis of the information you provide at the time, and is offered as guidance rather than intervention. The service is offered on a fair and reasonable use basis and is intended for occasional support, not as a direct substitute for ongoing legal representation.

What are the limits of Releaf Protect, and how is my information handled?

Releaf Protect applies strictly to matters connected to your Releaf medical cannabis prescription, not to unrelated legal matters or disputes/incidents that predate your eligibility to use the service. 

Ongoing legal representation, litigation, or repeated case handling fall squarely outside Releaf Protect’s scope of practice, as does any advice relating to criminal activity. Releaf Protect is there to clarify and explain, not step in to handle legal cases or act as a solicitor on your behalf.
